The School of Health Science at Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) organized a workshop titled “Efficiency Evaluation of Portable Innovations for Detecting Pesticide Contamination.” Associate Professor Dr. Kowit Nambunmee, a faculty member of the School of Health Science and Head of the Safe City Innovation Research Group, served as the principal speaker. Held on June 8–9, 2026, at the Occupational Health and Safety Laboratory (M3-615) in the Pre-Clinical Building, the event welcomed representatives from over 40 agricultural agencies and private organizations—including provincial, district, and sub-district agricultural extension offices.
The workshop aimed to advance innovations in agricultural pesticide contamination screening using portable devices that offer accuracy comparable to standard laboratory procedures. This innovative tool is designed to be user-friendly, time-saving, and cost-effective. The training focused on building a solid understanding of pesticide residue detection in vegetables and fruits using the "Delta E" test kit. Participants also engaged in hands-on practical sessions, including random produce sampling, contamination assessment, data interpretation, and effective washing techniques to minimize pesticide residues.
